Last spring, I set out to capture a special moment for my partner, Read, and his son Charlie in honor of Charlie’s 4th birthday. What was supposed to be an early morning session under soft light turned into a midday adventure in full sun, offering less than ideal conditions. As we drove east from Portland, OR without a cloud in sight, we stumbled upon the most perfect creek just outside Carson, WA which offered just the right amount of shade. Plus, the playful backdrop allowed Charlie to fully embrace his energy, creating a session full of joy and natural connection. It’s such a blessing to be able to document these stages for parents, preserving memories that will be treasured for a lifetime.
