Camas, WA Family Session

Just a short drive from both Vancouver and Camas, Captain William Clark Park proved to be the perfect setting for this lifestyle family session nearly three years ago. Although I’m based in NE Portland, I love serving families throughout Southwest Washington as well, and this session was such a wonderful reminder that you don’t have to travel far to find a location that feels peaceful, scenic, and full of natural beauty.
One of my favorite things about family photography is helping clients realize that beautiful locations are truly all around us. At the time, this sweet family had an 8-month-old and wanted to stay close to home. Together, we chose a riverside park that offered the feeling of a quiet, remote escape without the long drive. With soft light, open shoreline views, and plenty of space to slow down and simply be together, it created the perfect backdrop for their family session.
Sometimes the most meaningful place for your session is somewhere you already love spending time together — your favorite local park, a riverside trail, or even a spot tied to your family’s memories and routines. Those familiar places often help little ones feel more comfortable and allow your session to unfold naturally. So if you already have a favorite spot your family enjoys, I would love to help bring your vision to life and create images that feel authentic to your season and story.
