It's been a while since I last sat down to create a blog, but I recently went through Jessica and Cameron's gallery again and wanted to share some of my favorites. I had so much fun getting to know them better and they were such a dream to shoot. They're super easy going, adventurous, and so obviously in love that capturing them in one of my favorite places was easy-peezy. I'm really excited that they've chosen me to document their wedding later this year so you haven't seen
I met Bridget a few weeks ago when we met for a bridal consultation and instantly we connected. I knew she would be amazing to capture but I had no idea that she and Nick would be such naturals together in front of the camera. I had been feeling that I was in a bit of a creative rut and this golden hour engagement session ignited my creativity and reminded me how much I love shooting engagements. It also dawned on me that I've been behind on my blogging all year - so I'm us
I love capturing growing families and especially when there is an extra special connection. Nicole and I met in high school and our lives intertwined again recently when my son began going to the same preschool as her sweet daughter Mikayla. That said, I was delighted when she asked me to document the arrival of their second child, Ryder - now already a month old! Each time I photograph a maternity session I fall more in love with the process. And seriously, how could I not?!
Kelsey and Josh - It's not every day that you meet a couple that epitomizes everything about young love. These two began dating in high school, went to Oregon State where she danced, and just this summer they were married in a beautiful ceremony at Gallon House Farms in Silverton. I don't typically blog bridals specifically, but these two hit it out of the park, so I wanted to share more. Here is a mini-blog post featuring many of my favorites. Congratulations you guys!
I had the pleasure of shooting Monica and Matt's engagement earlier this year and let me just say that everything about this session was a photographer's dream. Completely willing to trek to the Gorge for a chance at epic images, these two were enthusiastic and completely game for our little session of adventure. And clearly the drive was worth it, as this location certainly didn't disappoint and made for an absolutely beautiful backdrop. They are getting married in a few
I fell in love with this couple the moment they jumped at shooting at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. All three of us were newbies, having never been to the refuge before. It’s always exciting shooting someplace new; as it’s a great time to just explore, get to know a couple more, and see what images we can create together. Here are a few of my favorites from these lovebirds and their two precious littles. Their chemistry is undeniable and the love they have f
I met Kristie a few years ago and was thrilled to hear that she wanted to participate in my spring mini's, and of her engagement to her longtime beau, Nick. Her mini session became a full session when I couldn't really stop shooting their cuteness in the golden light. They giggled, teased, laughed and smiled their way through the entire shoot. It was refreshingly heartfelt and beautiful. I am so happy for these two and the life commitment they are about to make. Congrats
Often times pictures can take the place of a thousand words. This may sound a bit cliche, but in the case of the Manchik's, the saying holds true. They are an absolutely beautiful family that I was lucky enough to shoot at the Brood + Tribe workshop in Sunriver, OR a few weeks ago. I believe these images capture some of their love story (at least I hope so!) with their amazing little guy, Lev. Enjoy. #baby #rustic #scenic #love #romance #family #couples #portraits #marria
I completely stepped out of my comfort zone this weekend by attending the Brood + Tribe workshop in Sunriver with a group of incredibly talented lifestyle photographers. I was a sponge the entire time, gathering as much knowledge as I possibly could. Not only did I gain tons of technical skills that I can't wait to implement, but the shared wisdom, support, and true sense of community leaves me rejuvenated and motivated to continue on this creative journey. Here are a few o
Alexiya and Dan contacted me this fall for a maternity session in celebration of their daughter's arrival (Alaiya Jae due this March), and I am so BLESSED that they did! They are such a lovely, sweet couple, who were enthusiastic about shooting up at the Pittock Mansion two weeks ago. These two lovebirds were funny, positive, and their connection palpable. They braved the frigid December temps and rocked it for the sake of some great pictures! Congratulations again you guys
Rachel and Michael are high school sweethearts who began dating more than four years ago. If you ask Rachel it was love at first sight. When they reached out to me regarding engagement photos, they had only one request in mind, they wanted trees. I think this Forest Park location did the trick! We began shooting at the Hoyt Arboretum and ended up traipsing through the park finding sweet romantic spots to capture their love. Don't they make the most beautiful couple?!! Con
I love shooting engagement sessions. They are often the first time I'm shooting a couple and offer a great chance to get to know them prior to their big day. It's also a time for me to see how naturally comfortable they are in front of the lens and often breaks any nerves prior to wedding day. With Melissa and Kyle, we began our session at the Historic Jenkins Estate and finished with golden light up at the Cooper Mountain Nature Reserve. I told them, and I'll say it agai
Patrick and Sarah share a love of Japanese culture and originally hoped to shoot their engagement pictures at the Japanese Gardens in Portland, OR. However, after learning that portrait photography was prohibited at the Gardens, we shot at the next best place (and coincidentally right across the street!), the International Rose Test Garden. We caught a few amazing shots before the much-welcomed rains prevented us from finishing. We followed-up the second half of the shoot a
I was lucky enough to meet Ashley and Alex a year ago for their one-year anniversary shoot. We had a blast romping around a lavender farm capturing romantic moments. A year later, and they are still the sweetest, most loving couple (but with an exciting addition!) Needless to say, it was an easy YES when they asked me to do a maternity shoot on Sauvie's Island last month. I am beyond excited for the arrival of their baby girl later this summer. Alex and Ashley, welcome to
Callie and Jacob were married last summer and were my first "official" clients when I jumped into the craziness of wedding photography. They took a leap of faith allowing me the opportunity to document their day (having only worked as a second-shooter previously!) They were married at Oakview Acres in Canby, OR and their wedding was right up my alley...country-rustic with a pop of glamour! Callie made the most beautiful bride and Jacob the best love-struck groom. Throughou
When my dear friends Dallas & Tyler became engaged last summer, I couldn't have been more happy for the two of them. In part, because I selfishly hoped they would want me to capture their engagement session. The love they have for one another, and the way that they complement each other, makes them dreamy subjects for any portrait photographer! With their wedding less than two weeks away (already!!!)...I thought this would be a great time to jump-start my blogging AND kick-
